Vellarikka -Mambazha Madhura Curry (Cucumber and Mango in Yoghurt Gravy) )





1.Vellarikka (Cucumber)-300gms cubed
   Ripe mango-300gms medium cubed
   Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
   Jagerry(sarkkara)-1tbsp grated (optional)
   Salt
2.Shredded coconut-3/4cup
   Cumin seeds-1tsp
   Green chilly-2
4.Yoghurt-1cup
3.Coconut oil-1tbsp
   Mustard seeds-1tsp
   Dry red chilly-2
   Pearl onion-2 chopped
   Curry leaves



  • Cook cucumber and mango with 1cup water ,turmeric powder ,jaggery and salt.
  • Grind together coconut,cumin seeds and green chilly to a fine paste.
  • Add this paste to the cooked cucumber and mango. 
  • Bring to a boil and remove from fire.
  • Add yoghurt and mix well.
  • Heat oil in a pan and sputter mustard seeds.Fry onions,dry red chilly and curry leaves.
  • Pour this over the curry and mix well.
  • Serve with rice.
